What is the Level 2 Additional Maths Qualification?

The Level 2 Additional Maths qualification is designed to bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level Maths, giving students an early taste of the concepts they’ll encounter at sixth form — including more complex coordinate geometry, trigonometric equations, and an introduction to calculus.

My tutoring course is specifically designed for Year 11 students who are predicted an A or A* at GCSE and are considering A Level Maths next year who may not have the option to achieve this qualification at their school. While the qualification itself isn’t compulsory for A Level maths, it provides an excellent foundation. Students who study Additional Maths often find the transition to A Level much smoother and begin Year 12 with a real head start.

The course commitment

The cost of the course is £40 per week, per student. This covers one small-group online session each week, held on Sundays from 9:00–10:00am, as well as a follow-up exercise of questions with full numerical solutions. These exercises are designed to reinforce the week’s learning, give students structured practice, and help them build exam technique and confidence.

During weeks that fall around Easter and half term, there will be no live online session (as these times are often used for family holidays). Instead, students will receive a revision exercise and a test to complete. Tests can be emailed back to me, and I will mark them and provide personalised feedback — ensuring learning continues and progress isn’t lost during the break.

The course for the 2025/26 academic year will begin on Sunday 2nd November.

Weekly Plan 2025/26

Please note: The weekly plan outlined below is a guide and may be subject to change. I may adjust the order or focus of sessions to best meet the needs of the group and ensure all students are fully prepared.
